One of the most highly anticipated events of the summer is coming September 14th at the Fort Worth Design District. We are talking, of course, about the 1st Annual Hot Rods & Hot Dogs Event being held at 1953 Golden Heights Road.
What can you expect to see at this great event?

Let’s break it all down for you.
The “Hot Rods” part of the title is the car show featuring collectible, antique, and exotic cars from the Fort Worth area and beyond. The main architect of the event, local entrepreneur Ron Sturgeon, is himself a notable car collector in the Fort Worth region, and he will have many of his classic cars at the Car Show.
Pet Adoptions
Sturgeon is also an avid dog owner and supporter. Working closely with local animal care agencies, there will be pets at the event and volunteers there to help you become a loving owner of a loving pet. This is a hallmark of a Sturgeon-sponsored events & festivals, so if you are considering adopting a loving animal, now is the time and the Fort Worth Design District is the place.
Artisans and Art Contest
The Art on a Can Contest will be held. We like to call is a graffiti art festival.
The Art on a Can Contest is a fine art judged competition open to all visual artists, from novice to professional.
Mural Criteria:
- Mural should cover about half of the container wall (approximately 20 feet.)
- The artwork must be inspirational, entertaining, informative, and positive.
- Sexual, insulting or derogative images or content are NOT
Winners will receive:
- $250 for materials paid by one of our sponsors.
- $250 at the time of completion.
- An individualized press release on PR 24/7 wire account prepared by Eric Anderson, a professional writer.

- The murals created by the three chosen artists will be showcased during the 1stAnnual Hot Cars and Hot Dogs Car Show and Pet Adoption event on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
But there’s more! Food trucks will be there serving some of the regions finest foods. Pets are welcome. You can count on multiple booths with displays by local artists and craftsmen. You can count on a great time under the September sunshine.
