Determining whether you need a full-time office for rent, or an office space part time, is an important decision, one which can literally save you thousands of dollars during a business year . . . and who doesn’t want to save thousands of dollars?
We are the Fort Worth Design District, and we have several factors to consider when deciding on office space, and as a bonus we will give you a couple of suggestions in the Fort Worth area, which we believe to be great values. Call us at 817-439-3224 for more information.
A full-time office for rent is expensive.
The yearly rent on a full-time office space for lease is expensive enough, especially since it almost always includes some sort of damage deposit. Add to that the cost of hooking up utilities, paying for WiFi, buying furniture, paying for signage . . . no exaggeration, you can easily spend five-to-ten-thousand dollars before you ever hang your “open” sign on the office door. And that fact, right there, explains why many small companies simply cannot afford a yearly lease on an office space for rent.
Let’s just talk about the rent for a moment. Priced by the square foot, even a small office, say one thousand square feet, will cost you, at the very least, two thousand per month, and most micro companies simply cannot afford that kind of rental payment.
Part time might serve you better.
Yes, you can rent an office for rent part-time, and it is called coworking space, or shared office space. Instead of renting an entire office space for rent on a yearly lease, coworking space means you rent a workspace within a common work area, and you only rent by the month. Instead of paying a couple thousand per month in rent, you might pay in the neighborhood of $600 per month, with no long-term commitment. Instead of paying utilities on top of the lease payment, the utilities are usually included in the monthly rental fee, as is WiFi. And the office are already furnished, so that cost is eliminated as well.
Is this something you could thrive in? That is the question you need to ask. There is no doubt it is less expensive, but could you live in a shared office space, with other people from other businesses in close proximity. Some people cannot do it, and it is THE question you need to satisfactorily answer.
