The focus of this article is not whether you can rent a retail space for lease, but rather whether you should?
It’s a question all business owners should ask themselves post-pandemic. It may not be a pleasant question, but it is a question which could yield a very health answer for your company.
We are the Fort Worth Design District and trust us, we have all manner of retail space for lease in the Fort Worth area. For those who can rent retail space for rent, and for those who should rent it, we have what you need. Call us at 817-439-3224 for more information.
Now, let’s tackle that tough question posed earlier in this article.
The state of the economy in late 2021
In a word, uncertainty! The best economic minds in the country have expressed uncertainty regarding the economy in 2022. We just don’t know what the new normal will look like? We don’t know how important brick-and-mortar stores will be, or how much of the market share will be taken by online shopping.
Is it a good time to start a new business? Is it a good time to expand a healthy business? Is it a good time to play it safe and embrace a wait-and-see attitude?
How will retail businesses do in 2022?
Again, uncertainty with regards to this question. How much disposable income will workers have in 2022? What will they spend that income on? Are traditional businesses safe from the post-pandemic fallout? Will new retail businesses pop up which do quite well?
What about delays in the supply chain?
And then we have this question, a question which has suddenly become very important to our economy, affecting most sections of the economy: when will the supply chain free up, and when will retailers actually receive the products they need to sell? How long will those containers remain on ships in port? And truck drivers? How long will there be a shortage of them? If you were to open a retail store, could you get your product? If you were to open a retail store, would it be the type of store which will thrive post-COVID?
Uncertainty or certainty?
Only you know your business, so only you can take an objective look at your business and how it fits into the 2021/2022 economy. We are constantly counseling a guarded approach, simply because there are so many unknowns.
Wait or go full-steam ahead?
And here we are, right back to the original question: what should you do regarding retail space for lease. Boldly dive into the deep waters, head first, or wade in slowly? We at the Fort Worth Design District cannot answer that question for you, and in stating that we are doing you a service. We do not want to lease our properties to companies only to see them fail. We want them armed with all the information possible to make an informed decision which is best for them.
